Act justly, love mercy and lead well...

Onelife’s Uganda trips are all about experiencing cross-cultural mission and leadership, and making space to think more intently about the poverty and injustice that much of the world faces. If we are to make a significant difference as leaders in the future, then its essential that we engage with the major issues in our 'global village'. We have seen many teenagers transformed by their experiences with us in Uganda, and believe that they have understood more fully what it means to lead well in this complex world.

In the summer or 2009, our teams hosted two Young Leaders Conferences in Uganda, one in the west at Kasese in conjunction with 'An African Dream', and one in the east at Mbale in conjunction with 'Jenga'. We had an incredible time; we saw people healed, delivered and set free, met some inspiring people and had time to explore a beautiful country.

In the Summer of 2011, another team of 15 young leaders from the UK travelled to Uganda for 2.5 weeks. Once again we hosted conferences to train Ugandan young leaders, and spent time doing a whole variety of mission work in schools, slums, towns and villages.

In 2013 Onelife is returning to Uganda!

We have a group of 17 currently preparing for a life-changing trip this summer. We are extremely excited to have the chance to take them to such a different culture, and are expecting to see real transformation during the trip.

Even if you are not on the trip, we would love it if you could join with us in praying for it in the months leading up. The trip is understandably complex from an administrative point of view, both for the office team and for each of the young people taking part. Therefore we would love prayer for help with the organising of the trip.

Once we are there, prayer for safety and provision is definitely needed, as well as prayer for the work we do - that it would be filled with the Spirit of God and successful because of Him.

Lastly, do pray for Uganda itself. This is a country which has massive battles with poverty, malaria, HIV/AIDS and violence. Pray that God's kingdom would really break through and that the people would start to see positive change on these issues. Pray for the charities we will be working with, that God would bless their work and they would continually be equipped to make a positive difference in the right places.
